ECMac is a mod for ECWolf, a Wolfenstein 3D source port, that attempts to emulate the look and feel of the Macintosh version of Wolfenstein 3D. ECMac also boasts compatibility with Spear of Destiny (Not its mission packs), and a bit of some extra content so that nothing 'sticks out.'

Game Review
Wolfenstein 3D is a first-person shooter developed by Id Software and published by Apogee Software in 1992 for DOS. It has since been ported for several systems including PC-98, Mac, Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
The game was inspired by the 1980s Muse Software video game Castle Wolfenstein, a top-down infiltration game.
Wolfenstein 3D came out hot on the heels of the Commander Keen series and utilized the game engine created by John Cormack. It was pre-Doom, but you can see that many of the gameplay elements made their way into this future release. Playing as a captured allied spy, you must escape your Nazi captors and foil their plans for world domination. The game is broken down into six episodes which further break down into ten levels each. Eight regular levels, a boss level, and a secret level. Each level has a labyrinthian set up with lots of areas to explore, secrets to find, and enemies to blow away. You have a set number of lives, but it is possible to earn extra lives as you play.
Wolfenstein 3D is one of Apogeeās best selling games and is looked at by many as the godfather of 3D and first-person shooters. It raked in cash for both Apogee and Id in its heyday. 26 years later it still holds up as a classic of the genre and a hell of a good game.

Wolfenstein 3D is a first-person shooter based off the Apple II game Escape from Castle Wolfenstein. You play B. J. Blazkowicz, a Nazi P.O.W. who must escape from the dreaded Castle Wolfenstein by blasting your way through several levels of Nazis.
The Macintosh port, like the 3DO port, of Wolfenstein 3D has several improvements from the original DOS version. The graphics are much better, especially in the huge bosses, the game features a useful automap, there is a rocket launcher, and resolutions greater than 320x200 are supported. There are also more levels in the Macintosh version: The levels from the console ports and the levels from the DOS version, however, some of the DOS levels have been slightly modified and Otto Giftmacher, Gretel Grosse and General Fettgesicht are replaced with Hans Grosse, Death Knight and Ubermutant. In General Fettgesicht's stage, Hans Grosse and the Death Knight are both the boss which gives them the unfair advantage. Another bad thing is the enemies. All the enemies say are Halt or Halten Sie and the bosses all say Guten Tag where in the DOS version all the enemies had their own phrase. When the enemies die, they make only one screaming sound where in the DOS version they had multiple death sounds. When the bosses die in the Mac version, you only hear them thud to the ground but no death phrase. Also, like the 3DO version, the enemies are always facing you, making it impossible to sneak up on them; a feature that was sorely missed from the DOS version.

The music from the Macintosh port has a much higher quality than the DOS version. It features heavy percussion, electric guitars, and bass. However, there are considerably fewer tracks, and each one is fast-paced. None of the eerie ambiance or military marches are carried over which is a shame. The 3DO version features similar music, but without the ill-fitting electric guitar.
The music was composed as MIDI files but programmed to use different samples rather than the General MIDI tones.
